Sunrise + Sunflowers + beautiful people = an epic engagement portrait session! That's exactly what took place when Steph and Eric got us up before the crack of dawn for the first half of their two part engagement session. Steph loves sunflowers (like maybe more than she loves Eric...jk). When we were talking about where they wanted to do their engagement portraits Steph said she would love to include some sunflowers somehow. With a little help from my mother-in-law we found this gorgeous sunflower field on Route 47 in New Jersey! The owner even posted a little sign saying photo shoots were allowed ;)
The rest kind of came together pretty simply. I recommended we meet at sunrise so we could use the rising sun as part of the backdrop and they surprisingly agreed with no fuss. After a little mishap with keys getting locked in their house, they arrived ready to roll! They wanted to incorporate some DIY touches to the shoot, so they brought along a chalkboard and a hand painted wooden letter to use as props! They even decorated their "C" with sunflowers.
The second half of their engagement shoot was a couple weeks later at The Plough and the Stars, one of their go-to places. We had a perfect day to take some engagement portraits in Old City as well! We did a few portraits along Second Street and then went inside. Portraits in the bar were so much fun, too! The staff was setting up (they weren't quite open yet) but they were more than happy to let us meander around and do our thing.
It was really a lot of fun working with these two. They were so accommodating to our ideas and open to doing what we thought was best! So glad we were able to make it all work!
