Patricia & Andrew's Fairmount Water Works Wedding
*Posted by Matt*
When you have the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Boathouse Row and everything around there for wedding a backdrop, the real question on where to do portraits is: where do we start? That's the situation we were in for Patricia and Andrew's wedding at the Fairmount Water Works. Luckily we came prepared with a plan!
The day was extremely relaxed and fun to begin, with some easy getting ready at the Le Meridien downtown before heading out for portraits. We started with a First Look on North Broad Street, instead of classic South Broad Street setup, so we could get a different angle on a classic wedding portrait! Then we stopped at the Rodin Museum for wedding portraits before descending on the Water Works.
One fun wrinkle came when we were doing a few bride and groom portraits at Dilworth Park. We were on a bit of a time crunch but wanted to get some portraits with the water spraying up. Right next to us was what seemed like an organized flash mob. As we made our exit, they swarmed us. Turns out it was the PA Ballet filming a promo piece...and they wanted to twerk around the bride and groom (scroll down to check that out). And they did. And it was glorious.
The rest of the day was a bit more predictable than twerking ballet dancers. The ceremony along the Schuylkill River followed by some cocktails inside before moving back out for the reception! The sun was out and the win stayed (mostly) in check so we were all set for a great evening.
This was our first time at the Fairmount Water Works but it was not our first time working with Cescaphe Event Group (they operate the Water Works for weddings). We have worked with them at Vie earlier this year and Tendenza a few times. Their signature style did not disappoint!
We would love to be back!
