Philadelphia Wedding Photography | Julia & Ross's Valley Green Inn Wedding

Here at Fairmount we usually work with couples that live in Philadelphia or the surrounding area, but every so often we'll hear from an engaged couple that lives a few states away who happen to be getting married in the city. In the case of Julia and Ross, 'a few states away' meant New Mexico!

The two brought things back to where it all began (they met in Chestnut Hill) for their wedding at Valley Green Inn. You could definitely tell that these two were meant for each other! Family and friends travelled from all over the country to see them tie the knot, and you could feel the love in the air as thick as the humidity that day.

We started the day with the bride and groom at the Chestnut Hill Hotel, we did bridal party portraits along Germantown Avenue and ended the night at one of our favorite wedding venues: Valley Green Inn. And of course we did a First Look on the bridge near Valley Green Inn! The quiet, rustic atmosphere was such a perfect fit for the wedding, and kept things intimate and special. We may have had just as much fun as the guests hitting the dance floor!

Bad weather on a wedding day happens. It's unfortunate, but it does. It does NOT, however, have to ruin your wedding pictures. It is easy enough for a good photographer to adjust and make great wedding portraits in bad weather. All it takes is for the bride and groom to buy in.

That's exactly what Taryn and Chris did when the skies opened up on their wedding day a few weeks ago! Their wedding at Manufacturers' Golf and Country Club ended up being a mostly indoor affair but we were able to strategically get some outdoor wedding portraits between pockets of rain and by utilizing some overhangs for cover.

Looking at Taryn and Chris in these pictures, you could not even tell that anything was off about their wedding day. All the credit goes to them for realizing that their attitudes could affect their wedding day just as much as any weather could.

Congrats Taryn and Chris!

Maryland Wedding Photography | Jess & Mike's Winery Wedding

A bride and groom riding bicycles through a winery on their wedding day? It sounds like the setup for a movie scene but I promise you it actually happened. We have pictures (beautiful ones, in my opinion) to prove it.

Mike and Jess had their wedding at The Winery at Elk Manor in North East Maryland and they had a plethora of ways to make the day their own.

The story behind these two meeting is that they were biking past each other on the streets of Baltimore and stopped to talk. Fast forward a few years and they were getting married so they decided wedding portraits on bicycles was a must. They also had a bicycle-themed cake topper, a bicycle wheel place card display and so much more.

The winery also boasted a beachfront, a boat dock and open fields so portrait ideas were pretty easy. Jess and Mike were so laid back and really just encouraged us to do as much as we wanted, which was awesome! But it really was all because of these two that it all came together.

Congrats Jess and Mike!

Philadelphia Wedding Photography | Linda & John's Union Trust Wedding

Linda and John started off our 2016 weddings with their March wedding at Union Trust in Olde City. It was our first time working a wedding at Union Trust and I am so glad we had the opportunity because it was such a refreshing new wedding venue for us!

They kicked off the day getting ready at the Hotel Monaco before heading over for a first look at City Hall. We had some quiet time with just the bride and groom at the LOVE statue before heading over to meet the bridal party on South Broad Street.

Then it was off to Union Trust for the ceremony and reception!

The day was full of twists and turns, as most weddings are. Some of the highlights included a groomsman deciding to leave portraits without telling us to head back to his apartment, a surprise 'Baby Boomer Flash Mob' (yes, you read that correctly) and some unexpected snow while we were out doing portraits!

Congrats, once again, to Linda and John. Thank you for bringing us along and introducing us to a new, fun place in the city!

Philadelphia Wedding Photography | Jenny & Matteo's Delaware Wedding

*Posted by Theresa*

This weekend we have a wedding in Delaware so we thought it appropriate to revisit the last time we were there! We spent a beautiful day with Jenny and Matteo for their wedding at Rockwood Carriage House last Summer! The grounds around their venue were full of special spots that felt like we had been transported to a secluded secret garden. It was perfect for early June.

From the moment they saw each other at their first look, they could not stop smiling, and everyone around could feel the love. Their bridal party (all 15 of them!) looked summer ready in shades of pale mint, but Jenny was not to be outdone in her stunning lace dress.

We had so much fun celebrating this fantastic couple! Congratulations, Jenny and Matteo!
