Emily & Justin's Vintage Engagement Session

Marry me sign in engagement portrait at ReStore in Philadelphia, PA

We've got a couple really unique engagement portrait sessions that we are excited to share with you. First up is Emily & Justin's vintage-styled portraits at ReStore, an architectural salvage clearing house/ treasure trove in the Port Richmond neighborhood in Philadelphia. The many fabulous little details and architectural odds and ends provided a myriad of backdrops for this creative couple, who even brought a few of their own vintage props along to add to the atmosphere.
Of course we had to start with this wonderful lounger tub, just in need of a paint job and some claw feet, for a few intimate poses, before venturing through rows of doors, cabinets, shutters and more on the first floor.  Then we headed upstairs to play among chandeliers, antique mantles and tiles. What a great place for Philly engagement portraits.  And Emily and Justin weren't too bad either. :)
Seriously though, we're so happy this couple found us.  They have so many great ideas, and we love collaborating with our clients to create unique portraits.  Emily & Justin we're so excited for your June 2013 wedding!

Neil and Rachel's Engagement Portraits at Philadelphia Waterworks

Rachel and Neil are getting married next weekend! It feels like we first sat down with them so long ago, but in just a few days they will tie the knot at Knowlton Mansion in Northeast Philly. A few weeks ago I met with them for their engagement portraits. They just wanted casual portraits that included some Philadelphia landmarks so we met up by City Hall and worked our way to the Art Museum Area. The weather could not have been better with the sun shining and no rain in sight. They are both avid bikers and they told me how much time they spent on West River Drive, so we decided to end there, with the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the background. They were so much fun to be around, making each other laugh so much that I never had to ask them to smile, so I can't wait to photograph them on their wedding day.

Puppy Love | Kerri & Stephen's Lock Ridge Park Engagement Portraits

Orange tree behind couple in October engagement session

When Kerri and Steve were looking for a place for their engagement photos that would be a mix of nature and cool architecture, we thought of Lock Ridge park right away.  They brought along their two dogs for the session, which kept things interesting!  The weather was less than perfect, but they didn't let the drizzle dampen their spirits.  We had fun checking out the ruins of the old Iron Works and creating some rustic portraits. Matt and I look forward to hearing what they plan for their big day.
