Bride and Groom at Valley Forge Park

*Posted by Matt*

Talk about one of the more laid back, funny and fun couples we were ever able to work with! Maggie and Matt had a lot to deal with on their wedding day, on top of the normal stress and distractions. Excessive heat? Check. Thunderstorms? Check. You name it! But, to their credit, you would have never known judging by their excitement and exuberance that day.

We started off very hot and sweaty with bridal party portraits at Valley Forge Park. The blazing sun and open fields actually lent themselves nicely to beautiful portraits of the bride and groom, along with their bridal party (which was just their two siblings!). From there we moved around the park a bit to the National Memorial Arch for bride and groom portraits. Again, solid choice!

After that we stopped in Pheonixville at Bluebird Distilling, naturally, to relax and play some Jenga. Following an epic Connect Four matchup of Bride v. Groom — where the bride pulled out all the stops on her way to victory — we were off to the wedding at Columbia Station.

That's when the skies opened up and the rains came pouring down, forcing the ceremony inside. Neither bride nor groom let it affect them, though, and the ceremony went off without a hitch. One of the best parts of the night came when the best man speech took place. Matt's brother and best man recounted their childhood growing up on a self-described compound where, according to Dan, pretty much anything happened. Spoiler alert: Matt seemed to be the target of a LOT of what went down on the compound, haha.

Linda and John started off our 2016 weddings with their March wedding at Union Trust in Olde City. It was our first time working a wedding at Union Trust and I am so glad we had the opportunity because it was such a refreshing new wedding venue for us!

They kicked off the day getting ready at the Hotel Monaco before heading over for a first look at City Hall. We had some quiet time with just the bride and groom at the LOVE statue before heading over to meet the bridal party on South Broad Street.

Then it was off to Union Trust for the ceremony and reception!

The day was full of twists and turns, as most weddings are. Some of the highlights included a groomsman deciding to leave portraits without telling us to head back to his apartment, a surprise 'Baby Boomer Flash Mob' (yes, you read that correctly) and some unexpected snow while we were out doing portraits!

Congrats, once again, to Linda and John. Thank you for bringing us along and introducing us to a new, fun place in the city!

We had our first wedding at Aldie Mansion in Doylestown this May with Breanne and Eric. It was such a beautiful place!

Matt started his day with the girls in the bridal suite of the Aldie Mansion, while Natalie met Eric and his groomsmen at the Hampton Inn in Warrington. There were so many great spots around the venue to photograph Breanne's beautiful strapless lace wedding gown and diamond accessories to match!

The bride looked breathtaking in her wedding gown, adorned with a lace cover-up that she later removed for the reception, and her bridesmaids looked great in their matching gray bridesmaids dresses.

Eric stood out from his groomsmen, wearing a white jacket with his tux, while the rest of the guys wore black-on-gray tuxes. They looked great!

They were both naturals in front of the camera so their bride and groom portraits were so much fun! Towards the end of the night, we were able to capture one of our favorite photos ever—the two under a gigantic, twinkle-lit tree!

Congratulations Breanne and Eric!

Marie and Edwin could not have picked a better day for their Lancaster wedding at Stoltzfus Homestead. Not only was the day fantastic, but their venue was a perfect setting!

Both Marie and Edwin got ready at Stoltzfus with their respective bridal parties, while we took special precautions to make sure the two groups did not sneak any peeks at the other while out taking portraits!

Marie's beautiful lace wedding dress looked perfect next to her pink lace bridesmaids' dresses. Marie wore her "something blue" high heels, while her bridesmaids  wore cowboy boots. Edwin and his groomsmen added their own touch of personality to their grey tuxes with superhero socks!

The two said their "I do's" during a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Joseph's Church in Lancaster, PA.

After heading back to the reception at Stoltzfus Homestead as official newlyweds, the two kicked off the evening with some lawn games and appetizers outside, before asking their guests to head into the barn for the party to start!

Their reception was one of the most fun we have been to! Their families and friends held nothing back on the dance floor of the Stoltzfus Grand Barn, and made for some great photos.

The newlyweds also had an assortment of cupcakes as a dessert for their guests, and s'mores kits outside by the fire pit.

When the night was just about done, Marie and Edwin made a sparkler exit using heart-shaped sparklers! They definitely know how to make an exit!

Congratulations, Marie and Edwin!
