Philadelphia Engagement Photography | Philadelphia Art Museum Engagement Portraits

Couple smiles at each other on the steps behind the Philadelphia Museum of Art

A few weeks back I had the opportunity to go out with Chris and Mary Lou for engagement photos at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. We have been to the museum a bunch of times before and we absolutely love it. It's such a great challenge for us to revisit locations and find new and fresh ideas for photographs. Well, these two had already done the heavy lifting for us because they introduced us to a new spot we had never seen before!

We started with some traditional engagement portraits on the art museum steps and then walked down a side staircase to almost the water's edge. It was really a nice surprise and fit our motto of always trying to look at things differently. Apparently they have spent some time down there before so it was a fitting spot to capture their relationship in. After we were done by the water's edge — which included a great spiral staircase for pictures — we circled back to have some more fun near the Azalea Garden as well as a quick portrait by Boathouse Row.

These two were really fun to be around and their love for each other was so evident in their laughter. It was almost too easy to make great pictures!

Keep an eye out for their wedding at Valley Green Inn...it will be posted soon!

Boston Engagement Photography | Sasha & Stephen's Quincy Market Engagement Session

Couple cuddles inside Quincy Market during winter engagement session

I met up with Sasha & Stephen almost exactly one year before their winter Boston wedding at one of the most popular Boston landmarks: Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Inside the famous Quincy Market you can find all the famous Boston foods from New England clam chowder to lobster rolls, and after you've had your fill you can browse the tchotchkes and Boston memorabilia in the carts along the Bullmarket.  To keep warm during this winter engagement session, we alternated between the bustling indoors and the outdoor market, which features plenty of the colonial charm Boston is known for with its old buildings and cobblestone walkways.  There were still remnants of a recent winter storm, plus plenty of holiday lights to keep things festive.

Once we had our fair share of freezing and defrosting, we wandered over to Boston Harbor to check out the Marriott Long Wharf, where this couple will tie the knot in February.  You'll get to see a few previews of this venue before Sasha & Stephen's wedding is posted, since this seems to be one of the most popular Boston wedding venues. These two actually make me excited for the winter to get here—See you guys in February!

Boston Engagement Photography | Justen & Jenn's Plymouth Beach Engagement Photos

Plymouth beach engagement photo

Can you believe these photos were taken in January?!  I had my second taste of Boston wedding photography at the beginning of this year when I met up with Jenn & Justen at the site of their June wedding along the water in Plymouth, Mass., which also happens to be the site of Jenn's parents' house. We had an unseasonably warm, overcast day, which was perfect for some portraits along one of the Plymouth beaches. The engagement portrait session started right at the end of high tide, so we we were able to get a few shots in before the sandbars started to disappear.

I look forward to sharing their summer beachside wedding photos with you soon!
